OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide low cost medical care to the uninsured in
Lexington County.

Medmission is the brainchild of Dr. Schwab, who has
worked with a similar volunteer program in Florida.

"There are many people who can't afford or can't get
to  medical treatment," she said. Her goal is to offer
free check-ups, screenings and treatment for local
residents in a caring, Christian environment. Patients
will also receive referrals to local community
assistance programs for additional treatment.

"It's possible to treat many chronic conditions rather
inexpensively if you can catch it early," Schwab said.
"This can avoid catastrophic care later."

The Board of Directors will offer guidance to Medmission volunteers
as they begin to navigate administrative and legal
pathways toward nonprofit status and state and federal
funding.

"Laying the administrative groundwork for Medmission
is a daunting task," said board member Bob
Pietropaola, "but our board members are uniquely
qualified to help us do this as effectively and
quickly as possible."
